A lifelong freelancer, Phil Bowie has published 300 articles and short stories in magazines including Reader’s Digest, Harper’s, The Saturday Evening Post, Grit, Heartland USA, Tro...показать большеA lifelong freelancer, Phil Bowie has published 300 articles and short stories in magazines including Reader’s Digest, Harper’s, The Saturday Evening Post, Grit, Heartland USA, Troika, and a number of aviation and boating magazines.
His debut novel GUNS was endorsed by NY Times number one best selling author Lee Child, and it took honorable mention at the London Book Festival. He once won first prize in a national short story contest by completing a tale begun by Stephen King titled “The Cat From Hell.”
Phil enjoys flying a Cessna, riding a motorcycle over the remote back roads of the Great Smoky Mountains, walking ocean beaches, playing a fiddle, and reading. A licensed boat captain, he skippers a research trawler for NC State University. He’s an active member of International Thriller Writers and Mystery Writers of America and has served several times as a fiction contest judge for ITW.
A native of the Massachusetts Bershires, Phil now lives in his North Carolina home by the wide Neuse River, where he’s at work on his next novel.
