For seventeen years, she worked as a Legislative Advocate and as Family Law Specialist Paralegal with Administrative Duties at Southeast Mississippi Legal Services, before becoming disabled in 1995.
“Having to give up my career was extremely devastating to me, at first. But across the years, I began to truly know myself and grew mentally, emotionally and most importantly, spiritually. The trade-off of being in constant pain, leaving my career and my middle class life-style turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to me. Considering the present condition of my health and having had to navigate my life in incomprehensible pain, I would not change a thing.
Being and living in the present moment - with understanding, purpose and peace - I have profited more than precious gems and all other material things. If not one more blessing ever comes my way, all is well with my spirit and my soul. Humility and grace have propelled me beyond my wildest imaginings, and, still, there is more in this life for me to learn, to explore and TO DO for others.” - Linda F. Garry
