We live about 10 minutes from the beautiful Lake Powell, where we like to spend every extra second we get.Being a mom of 5 is my full time job, but a couple days a week I work at a near by holistic spa as an esthetician. I love being a mom and an esthetician, but recently I've decided to take a little more time for myself to pursue my dream of becoming an author. I love writing, and always. When I was younger, I wouldspend lots of time on writing poems, songs and even a few manuscripts that never came to completion. I grew up in a big city, but I have spent the last four years enjoying the simple life here in Utah. I believe this slow paced lifestyle has really given me the opportunity and extra time to take up writing again. In October of 2015 I wrote the first line of my now self published title, “Thursday’s Window”. Once I started writing this time around I couldn’t stop, I loved it. My story was all she could think, talk or dream about and I'm pretty sure I was driving my family crazy. I could not have finished her manuscript without the support of my husband and awesome sister in law, who both read every chapter along the way. They were always there willing for me to bounce ideas off of, and helped proofread and check for errors. My self published story went live on Amazon.com and Kindle June of 2016.Getting a printed copy of the book, felt like receiving a trophy at the end of the journey. Start to finish I really enjoy all of the self publishing process, from writing, formatting and cover design, to designing a website and posting on social media. There is so much creativity to the whole process, that I think it makes for an amazing outlet. My favorite genre is New Adult Romance Fiction, but will read almost anything if it grabs my attention. I'm am a sucker for a sappy romance. Right now though I'm in the process of writing a story that is more of a drama with a touch of the supernatural, and so far no romance. I've also been working on a children’s picture book, but that still has a ways to go. One of my favorite aspects of self publishing is not being stuck in one genre, and having the freedom to be able to take my story in any direction my imagination wants too.I am having so much fun with this new adventure, and plan on continuing to write whenever I have a spare moment (usually after the kids have gone to bed).
