When she retired, she turned her imagination and creativity into writing her first children’s book. Maureen has spent many hours reading books aloud to children. As she raised her own children and then taught hundreds of others in various classrooms over the years, she started to build her own collection of children’s books. Early on she realized how an illustration or a photograph could enliven and enhance the text of a story. She saw how young children would capture every minute detail as they gazed at the illustrations or photographs in a book.
In “I Was Wondering…” Maureen taps into the innate imaginations and curiosities of children. She puts herself in their place, as she wonders about the animals, asks interesting questions and looks for answers. The original and beautiful photographs of animals were taken by Maureen and her family on a recent trip to Africa. Children will be fascinated by these animals in their natural settings. The answers to the questions are base on factual information, but presented simply so that even a young child can comprehend.показать меньше
