However, I’ll tell you I do not feel like one. It was a cold day in Fayetteville, North Carolina when I arrived on this planet. I have traveled a long journey to get to this place in my life. It has been and still is an exciting journey. I have been a teacher, school counselor and principal of two elementary schools and one high school. I was the founding principal of Bear Magnet School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology located in Montgomery, Alabama. Our school was exceptional enough to merit the attention of the State Superintendent of Education. He paid us a personal visit during my tenure as principal.
I have always loved the study of psychology. My tenure as a school counselor was probably the most enjoyable phase of my career. The study of counseling was a benefit when working with staffs. students, and parents in all my professional assignments.
However, the most important job I have ever had was rearing my four children. They were and are so much fun. I have taught school in North Carolina, Iowa, and Alabama. Teaching my own children was my greatest challenge.
My latest adventure was writing this book. I had been teaching several ladies’ Bible studies, when one day one of my friends said to me, “You should write a book.” My response was, “You just do not understand, these lessons were written for speaking. They were not written for a book.” And I continued, “Do you really realize how long that would take?” Well, after many long hours spanning more than two years, “Let Me Be Your Trumpet, An Instrument in Your Hand,” has been birthed.
I have had many professional titles in education, but my most important one is Nancy, Child of God. I have felt that since I was seven years old. Walking with God has been a journey. Through it all I was able to wear a genuine smile and know that I was not alone. I want to share that prayer in your life can change all situations and circumstances if you just see them through the eyes of God. The love of God is so deep and rich. If one could mine the treasures of heaven and begin to experience the love of God, fear would fade and hope would arise.показать меньше
