She is a retired schoolteacher and stays actively involved in a variety of arts. She and her husband have two children, both of whom are married and have blessed them with six grandchildren. She was raised in a Catholic community of her German/Russian and Czech/Bohemian ancestry and she remains a member of the church of her father and paternal family, the saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church of Padua. Her maternal grandmother and mother were raised near Fort Cantonment where many of the stories in this book originated. From an official ancestral research of her maternal family, she is a direct descendant of John Rolfe, husband of Pocahontas, one of the first Native Americans to be converted to Christianity.показать меньше
